Welcome to our beach town escape! This has been a family project from the start—my son Michael and I have worked side-by-side to shape these cottages into something we’d both love to stay in.
We’ve thought of nearly every detail, so you can simply enjoy. With over 500 glowing reviews, the Kayadon Cottages have been a La Jolla icon for over a decade, and we’re thrilled to share this special place with you!

Cottage T
ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING.
The TVs use YouTube TV. You’re welcome to use your own streaming accounts—just please log out before you leave. Kindly don’t charge movies to the account. You will be billed back.
To keep things peaceful for everyone, San Diego’s Good Neighbor Policy asks that noise be kept down between 10 pm and 8 am.
Use the code from your welcome text to enter all doors. Lock with the padlock symbol; unlock with your code. If the code is lost, Michael can help.
Laundry is located in the garage. Please remember to clean the lint filter.
Barn doors slide smoothly—please glide them gently and avoid pushing outward or slamming.
The shared garage has beach supplies in the red cabinet. Please rinse sand off and return items when finished. Beach towels are inside your cottage—please don’t take bath towels to the beach.
Ceiling fans are remote-controlled. If the remote doesn’t respond, check that the wall switch is on.
Bathrooms are wet baths. Please put towels and personal items away before showering. Outdoor shower is hot and cold. Enjoy!
The BBQ is natural gas—no propane needed. PLEASE clean after use and replace the cover once it cools.
The fire pit is natural gas. No propane. PUSH AND HOLD IN the red button on the left until it begins clicking. At the same time, turn the knob on the right while pushing to the light symbol.
Both cottages share four bikes in the garage. Please always lock them when out. The combination is in your welcome text. Riding after dark without lights is not permitted in San Diego.
Solar tubes reflect natural sunlight—there’s no on/off switch.
A sound machines are provided to help reduce street noise and improve sleep.
If you’re traveling with pets, please clean up after them and follow posted beach rules—They will ticket!

Each cottage has its own washer and dryer. Yours in near the BBQ behind a gray door. Please remember to clean the lint filter.
Please handle the sliding doors and Murphy bed gently.
The shared garage has beach supplies in the red cabinet. Use the front keypad code sent in your welcome text . Please rinse sand off items and return everything when finished. Beach towels are inside your cottage—please don’t take bath towels to the beach.
Ceiling fans are remote-controlled. If the remote doesn’t respond, check that the wall switch is on.
Please NO WIPES OF ANY KIND in the toilet. Only toilet paper. It will clog.
